Will the twelfth standard students of Goa receive the cyberage laptops this year 2021?
The Late Manohar
Parrikar, former Chief Minister of Goa had introduced Cyberage Scheme
wherein the 11th Standard students would receive Free Laptop from the Goa
Government. The main purpose of this scheme was to make laptops available to
the students as the world is moving towards Digital Technology, so the students
can make full use of this laptop.
Current Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant said that the Cyberage scheme provided by former CM Parrikar has not been properly utilized by students. According to CM Pramod Sawant, he researched the scheme and discovered that just 15-20 percent of students have benefited from it. CM Sawant spoke at the opening of the new Shri Santadurga Vidyamandir High School building in Thivim.
CM Pramod Sawant has stated that the government will create a full-fledged laboratory for schools, beginning with government institutions and progressing to aided schools.
CM Pramod Sawant also says that Teachers should upgrade their communication skills, technical skills as day-to-day technology is playing a vital role in each individuals life. Teachers are the ones who provide better knowledge to the students so teachers should be open to learning new skills, technology.
This scheme covered students of Standard XI and XII who were studying Arts, Commerce, Science, and Vocational Subjects respectively. Students had to pay Rs. 1000 to avail of this Scheme.
It is also noticed that the students were misusing the laptops and selling the laptops on Buy and Sell products portals such as OLX. Resulting in the Goa Government had to revise the scheme.
Some students also complained about the configurations of the laptops as it was not running on the latest technology. The laptop is equipped with a Windows 10 operating system, Display - 14inch HD LED, AMD A6 Processor, 500 GB of Hard Disk, 4 GB RAM.
The Goa Cyberage Scheme 2021: Currently distribution of laptops to students is presently on hold while it is being revised.
